Back to the Future entered the German charts at number 55 for one week on October 31, 2005 and left the Top 100 the following week. So it could not build on the commercial success of the two previous albums, which each reached the top 10. In Switzerland, the record was 63rd and stayed in the charts for two weeks.

As singles , the songs were Top Model (DE No. 31, 9 weeks) and my job (DE 78th, 4 weeks) decoupled.

The website laut.de rated the album with three out of a possible five points:

" " Back to the Future "chose the massive way, not coincidentally as the title, and not because R'n'B Chanteur Fetsum this occurred to a usual naidooeske hook. In terms of content, one wants to orientate oneself to one's own roots, musically, however, preserve the absolute chart suitability at all costs. [...] Without a doubt, "Back To The Future" will also roar from the system of every breeches from Pragsattel to Degerloch, and somehow that is also something beautiful. Especially since the tones at least don't try to portray someone they are not. I think that's called real in the hip hop scene. And: The album is definitely better than its predecessor. "
