The Zwercheck ( Svaroh in Czech ) is a 1,333 m high mountain in the ridge of the Künischen Mountains of the Bohemian Forest . The western flank is part of the northern Bavarian Forest . The border between Bavaria in Germany and Bohemia in the Czech Republic runs on the Gupf .
On the wide, free, rounded summit there is a meadow and a smaller rock ledge with a summit cross and a good view of the Großer Arber and the Kaitersberg and down to the Lamer Winkel .
In 1922, the Pilsen Ski Club built the Juránkova chata log cabin on the Czechoslovak side , which burned down like a wooden observation tower and was never rebuilt. There are only two official hiking trails leading to the Zwercheck, one from Oberhaiderberg near Lohberg , the other from Scheibensattel on the Brennesstrasse between Lohberg and Bayerisch Eisenstein . It is also possible to climb along the border, which is rarely used by locals. A wild route takes around 3 hours along the border over to the Osser .
