life and work

Krasiński was the son of a Polish magnate family . He studied law in Warsaw and later in Geneva , where he met Adam Mickiewicz . However, he was mainly concerned with literature and European philosophy. The greatest influence on his worldview and attitude to life had his father, Wincenty Krasiński , who was a general under Napoléon Bonaparte and later after Napoléon's defeat general to the Russian tsar . He could never resist the influence of his father, who even forced him to marry Eliza Branicka , although he was in love with Delfina Potocka . He did not finish his studies after his father forbade him to take part in anti-Russian demonstrations for a democratic Poland.

The first literary works were created while studying in Warsaw. However, it was not successful until 1835 with the ungodly comedy .
