Zygmunt Pawlas (born October 28, 1930 in Jasienica , † June 20, 2001 in Katowice ) was a Polish sword fencer .
successes
Zygmunt Pawlas was vice world champion with the team in Luxembourg in 1954 . He also won bronze with her in 1953 in Brussels , 1957 in Paris and 1958 in Philadelphia . He took part in two Olympic Games : in 1952 , he finished fifth in the team competition in Helsinki . At the Olympic Games in 1956 he reached the final round with the team in Melbourne , in which they only had to admit defeat to Hungary and finished second. Together with Marek Kuszewski , Andrzej Piątkowski , Jerzy Pawłowski , Wojciech Zabłocki and Ryszard Zub , Pawlas won the silver medal.
He was married to the Olympic fencer Elżbieta Pawlas .
