The iPad Pro is a tablet computer from Apple's iPad model line . It was presented to the public on September 9, 2015 and is the first tablet computer from Apple to have a display diagonal of 32.78 cm. The Apple iOS mobile operating system runs on the iPad Pro . The iPad Pro has been available since November 11, 2015. On March 21, 2016, Apple introduced it with a smaller display diagonal of 24.64 cm. Most of the technical data is still the same as for the larger model. The two main hardware innovations with which the Pro is underlined in the name are support for the Apple Pencil and the Smart Connector , which enables support for the Smart Keyboard .
At WWDC 2017 on June 5, 2017, Apple presented the second generation iPad Pro with a 10.5 "screen diagonal, which replaces the 9.7" model. The large iPad Pro has been updated and Apple has installed the more powerful SoC A10X Fusion in both devices . In addition, the displays of both iPads now support a frame rate of up to 120 Hertz.
On October 30, 2018, the third generation with screen diagonals of 11 ″ and 12.9 ″ was presented, with Face ID replacing the previous Touch ID and thus the home button is no longer required. Like the previous generation, the screens of both device models support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz.
The fourth generation was announced on the Apple website on March 18, 2020. An innovation compared to the previous model is an additional ultra-wide-angle camera, so that two cameras are now installed on the back. A new SoC called A12Z should also be installed. The device now has 6 GB of working memory in all memory variants, instead of just the most expensive with 1 TB of flash memory. It uses the U1 chip that is also built into the iPhone 11. According to the manufacturer, an external wireless keyboard with trackpad will be available separately in May 2020.
description
There are three back color variants of the device, silver , gold and space gray . The smaller version is also available in rose gold . The front is made entirely of glass, the edges around the central 32.78 cm screen are black on the gray model, otherwise white. The housing has two speakers on the top and bottom, a smart connector interface for accessories and a central home button with a fingerprint sensor ( Touch ID ). There is also a front camera with 1.2 and a rear camera with 8 megapixel resolution. The screen has a resolution of 2732 × 2048 pixels (5.6 megapixels). A 2.26 serves as the main processor GHz clocked Apple Twister dual core processor , which in a SoC type Apple A9X works (since 2017 SoC Apple A10 fusion ). 4 GB of RAM and a choice of 32, 64, 128 or 256 GB and, since 2017, 512 GB of permanent storage are available. The iPad Pro has 2.4 and 5.0 GHz a / b / g / n / ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 and can also be supplied with a cellular modem (LTE) that supports all common cellular standards.

Recovery, even from DFU mode, is said to have been impossible. Apple stated that the problem was known, the operating system version 9.3.2 was then withdrawn prematurely for the 9.7 ″ models. According to sources available from 9to5mac magazine , Apple may have wanted to replace affected devices.
