Amber Lynn

Early career

Amber Lynn was born and raised in southern California. As a teenager, she got involved in the club scene in Los Angeles, where she met Althea Flynt, wife of Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt. Before long, Lynn was posing for layouts in Hustler as well as other "men's magazines" such as Penthouse. She entered the adult film industry in 1983, after her friend Ginger Lynn Allen (aka Ginger Lynn) did the same. The two friends, along with Porsche Lynn, became known as the "three Lynns" and were among the most successful female porn stars of the 1980s.

Lynn's on-screen sexual exploits included primarily vaginal intercourse and oral sex, as well as lesbian scenes. She starred in several movies with exceptionally well endowed men, and did a few scenes involving double pussy penetration. In her early career, she did not do anal sex. She got her older brother (porn actor Buck Adams) into the porn industry, and the two kept the fact that they were siblings hidden until they were scheduled to perform a scene together, at which point they confessed.

Retirement

Although Lynn was not directly affected by the Traci Lords underage-porn scandal in 1986, the episode shook her confidence in the business. She had also been deeply hurt by the 1984 suicide of friend Shauna Grant, and left adult films.

She began dancing and making personal appearances in Canada with adult film actress Tracey Adams, with whom she was involved at the time in a lesbian relationship. She soon decided that she preferred "live entertainment" to filmmaking.

After one of her on stage appearences at the House Of Lancaster in Toronto, she was approached by Barry J. Gillis, and Andrew Jordan who were producing a really low budget non-adult Canadian creature feature shlock film entitled THINGS. After some negotiations with her agent, Amber agreed to appear in the 90 minute feature film as a troubled reporter. THINGS had already been shot, but Gillis and Jordan needed to add more footage to make the movie a 90 minute production, and wanted to also have a name with some kind of star power associated with THINGS.

Amber was paid $2500 U.S. dollars for an hour of her time to shoot her scenes in THINGS. (reportedly the most money she has ever made in one hour) Gillis and Jordan made the high offer to ensure that she would appear in the film, and Interamerican Entertainment president Mel lieberman who released THINGS in 1989, fronted the money to Gillis and Jordan to have Amber appear in the movie. Gillis is said to have begged and pleaded with a sceptical Lieberman (who had already agreed to release the movie), until Lieberman broke down and finally agreed to front the $2500 USD, to have Amber Lynn appear throughout the cult classic film.

THINGS has since become one of the biggest cult films in Canadian history, with fans bringing over other fans and the uninitiated to watch THINGS, while they have beer drinking "THINGS MOVIE PARTIES" which the characters in THINGS are often doing. The reviews of THINGS and Amber Lynns legendary mainstream performance in the film have appeared all over the net in IMBD, Canuxploitation, the Video Graveyard, and in film magazines,, including Variety,etc. People either love THINGS, or hate it, but everyone remembers Ambers performance, because through a terrible mistake, and misdirection of the filmmakers, Amber can clearly be seen reading off cue cards in many of her scenes, and just about every movie reviewer, and movie critic to date, has made mention of this fact.

Amber continued to dance on the circuit, however, after a few years, the number of porn stars on the dancing circuit exploded, reducing the amount of money any could earn for each appearance. Lynn moved back to Los Angeles and returned to posing for magazines.

Return to adult films

She returned to adult films in the mid 1990s, but was unable to regain her earlier level of success. Several of her roles were lesbian scenes or non-sexual parts. By 1999, her struggles with drug abuse and alcoholism had severely damaged both her personal life and her career. She and Adams had ended their long-term relationship, and Lynn dropped out of the business again to clean herself up.

While in her early porn career Lynn refrained from breast enlargement surgery. However, by the time she returned to porn in the 1990s, her modest B-cup breasts had been enhanced to at least a DD.

Soon after her second retirement, reportedly in need of money, she began making films again. Some of these films were more extreme than those that she had done earlier in her career, including scenes containing anal sex (which she had previously refused to do) and extreme lesbian bondage (including spanking and abuse). She still appears in films from time to time, but her involvement is usually limited to one sex scene. Soon after, she can be seen at multiple different pornography sites on the internet.
