The People Speak is a 2009 American Documentary film directed by Tony Sacco. The documentary is inspired by Howard Zinn's book [1] and from the book he co-authored with Anthony Arnove, [2]
Plot
The film brings together accomplished performers like Marisa Tomei, Josh Brolin, Viggo Mortensen, Sandra Oh and Eddie Vedder, to re-create the emotional impact of moments in American history. These readings are woven together with historical footage, music and narrations from Ben Affleck and Howard Zinn.
Production
The film was shot on location in Boston and Malibu.
Scenes of the film were screened at the Democratic National Convention in August 2008 and at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008.[3]
