Sutor Basket Montegranaro, also known for sponsorship reasons as Sigma Coatings Montegranaro, is an Italian League professional basketball club from the town of Montegranaro, Marche. For past club sponsorship names, see the list below.

History

The basketball club was founded in 1955 by local parish priest Don Gaetano Campanelli from Porto San Giorgio as Società Sportiva Sutor, where sutor is a Latin word for shoemaker, the main local working activity at the time.

Sutor played mostly in lower basketball divisions in its early times, and promoted to LegADue (second division) in 2001 for its first time in history. Immediately relegated to Serie B in its first LegADue appearance, Sutor returned to second division in 2004 and surprisingly promoted to Serie A in 2006, allowing the small community of Montegranaro to take part in the top basketball division in the country.

Arena

Today, the team plays its home games at the PalaSavelli arena in Porto San Giorgio, with a capacity of 3,800.
