Andrea Cinciarini (born June 21, 1986 in Cattolica , Emilia-Romagna ) is an Italian basketball player . As a professional player, Cinciarini has so far only been active for Italian clubs and as a national player participant in the last two finals in 2011 and 2013 for the European basketball championship . With Pallacanestro Reggiana, Cinciarini won the EuroChallenge 2013/14 and was named Most Valuable Player of the Final Four tournament in this European club competition. His brother Daniele Cinciarini , who is three years older, is also an Italian selection player.

Career

Andrea Cinciarini matured in the youth teams of Victoria Libertas in Pesaro and after the bankruptcy of the professional men's team in 2005 moved to the third division in Senigallia to the south . In the 2006/07 season he reached the championship and promotion to the professional second division Legadue with the league competitor from Pistoia in Tuscany . Then Cinciarini was committed by the first division club and previous year's climber Sutor Basket from Montegranaro . This reached in fourth place for the first time the play-offs for the Italian championship, in which one failed in the first round against record champions Armani Jeans Milan . Then Cinciarini was loaned in the 2008/09 season to the second division Edimes from Pavia , with the Cinciarini as the main round eight in the first play-off round to the first division promotion against the eventual winner and promoted Vanoli Cremona eliminated. After his return to Montegranaro, his game shares increased to over 15 minutes of playing time per game and the team reached the play-offs in sixth place in the 2009/10 season, in which again the first round was against Armani Jeans Milan. Cinciarini's shares of the game rose to over 20 minutes per game the following season, but Sutor Basket was only able to secure relegation with a victory over the relegation places in 13th place.

After his brother Daniele had only been a brief national player in the Italian men's selection and was not in any of the final squad , Andrea Cinciarini was appointed to the final squad at the 2011 European Championship final tournament. Here he was used as a supplementary player on average just under ten minutes per game, but Italy lost four out of five preliminary round games, including against Germany, and were eliminated after the preliminary round. Then Cinciarini signed a three-year contract with the traditional club and runner-up from Cantù in Lombardy , where he was supposed to play a role similar to that in Montegranaro under coach Andrea Trinchieri . In the highest-ranking European club competition ULEB Euroleague 2011/12 , the team reached the intermediate round of the 16 best teams, in which they failed to advance only because of the poorer direct comparison with Maccabi Tel Aviv . After the northern Italians had lost the final in the national cup competition "Coppa Italia" against series champion Montepaschi Siena , they failed as third in the main round in the first play-off round against Cinciarini's home club from Pesaro, who had returned to the top division. But Cinciarini's shares of the game had not developed as expected and had declined over the course of the season, so that they separated after the end of the season. Cinciarini went to the first division return from Reggio nell'Emilia , where he received over 30 minutes of playing time as a starting point guard and was fourth best and best Italian assists with a good four assists per game in the top division. Right away, the team returned as sixth in the main round in the circle of play-off participants, among whom they were defeated in the first round only after seven games, the later runner-up Acea Rome .

Cinciarini also played an average of more than 20 minutes per game for the Italian national team at the 2013 European Championship finals and Italy remained unbeaten in five preliminary round matches. After two defeats between the rounds, the team secured their place in the quarter-finals with a victory over defending champions Spain . However, after three defeats in the quarter-finals and placement matches, Italy missed qualifying for the 2014 World Cup . In the 2013/14 season, Reggiana also returned to the European club competitions and was the only Italian participant in the EuroChallenge 2013/14 to reach the Final Four tournament of the competition. As the host of the tournament in Bologna , you could win both games against Royal Halı Gaziantep and Triumph Lyuberzy in the final and win the first international title for the club. Cinciarini was named MVP as the best player in the final tournament . In the Italian championship, Cinciarini was the best assists of all players with more than six assists per game and Reggiana again reached the play-offs in seventh place, in which defending champion Siena was beaten just after five games.
