If a project seems neglected, feel free to try to encourage increased participation and develop the project further in the collaborative spirit of Wikipedia. WikiProject meta-data

Three types of meta-data have been added to some entries on this page.

• WikiProject creation month and year: this information is taken from the History for each main WikiProject page. There are cases where this might not reflect the actual creation date for the WikiProject. If this date is in error, you are encouraged to set it right.
• WikiProject scope clarification: A brief statement explaining the WikiProject's purpose, for those cases where the title of the WikiProject alone may be insufficient to convey this. For detailed information on the WikiProjects' goals and practices, see the individual pages.
• Presumed Inactive WikiProjects: These are noted in unbolded text in each section below (thus, bolded WikiProjects are currently or recently active). "Inactivity" is a subjective assessment and is indicated on each WikiProject main page by placement of the template {{Inactive}} at its top. Inactive WikiProjects can be brought back to activity at any time by any interested user.

• Userboxes December 2005: An attempt to improve the userbox templates, and created a standard prefix and improve the Userbox page layout.
• Project Echo January 2006: A project to better organize information in articles related to other-language Wikipedias.
• WikiProject on user warnings November 2005: This project seeks to create a complete, standardised set of user warning templates with full documentation and help pages.
• EnRich! March 2006 : Salvage, organisation and transwiki of notable, encyclopedic, free license photography that may be otherwise deleted per WP:NOT.
• Expert Request Sorting June 2006: To categorize and sort requests for expert assistance.
• Wikipedia:WikiProject_Laundromat July 2006: To reduce the number of laundry lists in Wikipeedia articles

• Writing captions
• Translation into English — Request translation of a foreign-language wikipedia article, or sign up to indicate that you are available as a translation resource.
• Photography — This project is for Wikipedian Photographers. The hope is that requests can be made here for photographs for the Wikipedia.
• Spoken Wikipedia — A project to record articles in order to make them available to visually impaired persons as well as those who enjoy listening to information.
• Missing encyclopedic articles — A new project designed to organise the creation of articles other encyclopedias have but Wikipedia does not.
  • Subproject: Distributed indexing — Users work together to create an editable text index to scanned encyclopedias and related subject matter. These indexes are then added to the Missing Articles project.
• Wikipedia:Wikiproject Punch cartoons, aims to gather as many relevant cartoons as possible from Punch magazines at Project Gutenberg June 2006

• Department of Fun — Department of Fun this project started out very small with a trivia game called *Wikifun — The game got such a good response in the first round that I decided to expand it and thus the department of fun was created. I would like to encourage people to visit and participate.
• Kindness Campaign — A project dedicated to the recognition of the hard work of others, and to acts of kindness in general.
