The following are a list of characters on the American sitcom, Zoey 101[1].

Main Characters

Zoey Brooks

Zoey started at Pacific Coast Academy ("Home of the Stingrays") as an eighth grader (in Season One). She wears a necklace with her dorm key on it, as she was always forgetting it and locking herself out of her room. However, she is never seen using it, and in later episodes, the girls will occasionally leave the door open. Zoey has used her talents to design clothes and backpacks, among much else. Zoey is one of PCA's first-ever female students, joining her younger brother Dustin (whom she mothers, even though he is mature far beyond his years). One of Zoey 's best friends is honor student Chase Matthews, who showed her around campus during her first day at PCA (and who has a serious crush on Zoey , although he has trouble putting it into words). Also, Zoey has a semi-crush on Chase. Zoey is also close with her two dorm-mates Lola Martinez, and Quinn Pensky, and with Chase's dorm-mate Michael Barret. Zoey is currently the only girl on PCA's basketball team (as a result of Dana's transfer), and was the first girl at PCA ever to be nominated for Class President (though she dropped out of the race). Zoey is a natural leader whose spunk, charm and independent nature help her rally support for anything she does. However, she's not immune to shenanigans; once, she was forced to read an IM aloud, which read "Hey Zo' (short for "Zoey "). You think Mr. Bernardo knows his zipper's down?" Not one to be trampled by others, Zoey is as down-to-earth as they come. In the third Zoey 101 movie, "Goodbye Zoey ?," she moved to London to go to a preparatory school called Convington while her dad worked in England. She comes back to tell Chase her true feelings because she overheard Chase telling Michael and Logan that he misses and loves her. However, he transfered to Covington in London because he decided he must be with Zoey . They tried to date via web-cam but decided that it wouldn't work out and that they would have to wait until Chase returns to PCA after 1 full semester. She kissed Michael and Logan's new roommate James Garrett at the end of "Rumor of Love" and is currently dating him.

James Garrett

James Garrett (Austin Butler Season 4) ]]. Quinn's instrumental talent is playing the trombone, as seen in "Lola Likes Chase" and "Quinn's Alpaca". Most of Quinn's time is spent in her dormroom at PCA, which doubles as a laboratory. According to Quinn in the episode "Broadcast Views", she has an IQ of 177. Her extracurricular activities include developing various contraptions, all known as "Quinnventions", which she then tests on unsuspecting fellow students. As a running gag, most of her Quinnventions have an unintended side effect. Quinn often employs Dustin Brooks as a guinea pig for her experiments, although her roommate (and Dustin's elder sister) Zoey seldom takes kindly to this. Quinn's other roommate is Lola (due to a room-assignment mix-up). Quinn keeps a lab-rat; a Kingsnake named Marvin; a [[Tarantappeared in Zoey 101 as a new character of Zoey 101 in the main opening titles. He first appears in Season 4 in the episode, "Rumor of Love" being the new roommate of Michael and Logan. When he moves in, Michael and Logan hate him, making fun of him based on his name, to Lola's chagrin, but Michael eventually apologizes, with Logan still hating him simply because James is a girl magnet. He later attempts to make James "undatable" by spreading a rumor that him and Zoey are dating. Then he and Zoey tried to make it clear but they ended up dating. By "Anger Management" we realize that they have officialy become a couple and are having their 1 week anniversary.

Quinn Pensky

Quinn Pensky was born and raised in Seattleula named Hermin; and a pet alpaca named Otis, who lives with her parents back in Seattle. Her boyfriend was Mark Del Figello for 2 years, but they broke up in "Quinn Misses the Mark," and this is because Mark had fallen for another girl, Brooke. Quinn hates it when people call her a "spaz," which they frequently do. She also eats baby food. Also, Quinn has six toes on her right foot, as mentioned in several episodes. She appears to be very good at volleyball, due to her becoming vicious. Quinn is the only female main character to stay at PCA throughout the whole series (Zoey doesn't count since she left in "Goodbye Zoey ?"). In "Quinn Misses the Mark," Quinn and Logan kiss. In the next episode, "Walk-a-Thon," Quinn and Logan try to hide their relationship from Michael, as well as everyone at PCA.

Logan Reese

Logan Reese is the most handsome and sophisticated boy at PCA, or so he rates himself. He is certainly the wealthiest, and definitely the most obnoxious, though he can be sweet when he wants to be. Logan is confident that girls will flock to him because of his rugged good looks; it is just his attitude that needs work. He is wild about the opposite gender (girls, with whom he flirts shamelessly), less so about them taking up space on campus - particularly on PCA's sports teams. Logan's roommates are Michael Barrett and, before he moved to England, Chase Matthews. His roommate that replaces Chase is James Garrett, or as he makes fun of "Jimmy." He once mentored Dustin Brooks on how to be a ladies' man, only to watch the younger boy succeed where Logan himself failed. Logan's deepest secret is a chemistry aptitude, which he fears will make him the subject of mockery by his peers. Logan's father is a big-league TV/film-producer whose work includes the hit game show "Gender Defenders", on which Logan and his pals have been featured as contestants. Logan believes in ghosts and is very afraid of them (as shown in "The Curse of PCA"). He is mentioned to have the lunch lady do his hair in the morning. He thinks he has big muscles, and he constantly takes pictures of himself. He is also very lazy and often asks Dustin to do his work for him and returns by paying him money. In the episode "Anger Management", Dustin becomes Logan's assistant because Logan paid him a lot of money, however it didn't last long, after Logan revealed his anger issues by leaving a very angry voicemail to Dustin, and he was sentenced to anger management classes. However, in "Quinn Misses the Mark" Logan reveals he has a heart when he comforts Quinn after her breakup with Mark, and they share a kiss.

Michael Barret

Michael Barret is the roommate and best friend of Chase Matthews and Logan Reese. Michael is a natural athlete, yet he also plays the flute. He and Logan keep urging Chase to open up with how he feels about Zoey. Michael, who was once addicted to potato chips, gets along with practically everyone at PCA. He had his own web show with Chase. Michael is a very loyal and supportive friend. He is one of the few characters to stay at PCA through the entire seris (along with Logan and Quinn, Zoey and Chase don't count for the went to a boarding school in London). It is stated that Michael is a good signer when he isn't in front of girls he likes. He is usually the test subject of Quinns science projects.

Lisa Perkins

Dustin Brooks

Dustin Brooks (Paul Butcher) is the sort of "perfect" little brother most teenagers fantasize about having as their own. The exception is Zoey Brooks, who does not need to fantasize because she is Dustin's big sister. Besides being his fiercest protector and closest confidante, Zoey has more recently become her brother's classmate at the newly-coed PCA. A child prodigy, Dustin enjoys sharing an 8th grade geometry class with his equally-savvy elder sister. He also enjoys helping Quinn Pensky with her scientific experiments, when he is not talking his way in and out of assorted sticky situations. Whenever he gets in over his head, Zoey is always the first one to rush to her kid brother's aid. Although her playing 'bodyguard' gets on Dustin's nerves from time to time, he loves Zoey too much to hold that against her. By Season 3, not only does Dustin share most of his sister's friends, but he also spends much time socializing with kids closer to his own age. When Zoey and his parents move to London, he stays at PCA with his friends. He made his first Season 4 appearance in "Anger Management" as Logan's assistant. He knew that Zoey had returned to PCA before this episode, as he did not seem surprised at all to see her. However, it is not known if Dustin knows why she came back.

Stacy Dilsen

Former Characters

Chase Matthews

Chase Bartholomew Matthews (Sean Flynn) met Zoey Brooks on her first day of at PCA. He has been her best male friend since then. Chase has deep feelings for her, which he has great difficulty putting into words and action, but Zoey found out at the end of Season 3 (in Goodbye Zoey). Chase's best friends are his roommates Michael Barret and Logan Reese. All three are on PCA's basketball team; Michael and Chase also co-host their own campus-based talk show, as shown in the season 2 episode "Broadcast Views." Chase gets along well with Zoey's roommates: Nicole Bristow, Dana Cruz, Lola Martinez and Quinn Pensky. He also acts as a big brother to Dustin Brooks (who is, aptly enough, Zoey's little brother). On one occasion, Chase was pitted against Zoey and Mark Del Figgalo in a race for Class President. (Mark won the election by default, although Chase and Zoey maintained a rough 98% split of the vote.) Chase possesses a phobia of raccoons, and his favorite cereal is Muffin Flakes. He can whistle through his nose; when he was little, he thought babies came from outer space. He shares the same birthday as his grandma, who dies on the day of on of his birthdays, in the episode "Chase's Grandma." Chase also has a good jumping ability and can jump over an entire sofa, as seen in "Spring Break-Up" and "Goodbye Zoey". In the episode,"Miss PCA", it shows that Chase wears briefs. He is also known for being clumsy. In the movie "Goodbye Zoey," a malfunctioning webcam connected to Zoey's computer caused Zoey to inadvertently listen in on a conversation between Chase, Logan, and Michael, in which Chase expressed his complete feelings for Zoey while she was 5,000 miles away. In Season 4, he moved to Covington to be with Zoey. They tried to date via webcam but decided that it wouldn't work out and that they would have to wait until Chase returned to truly be together. They also made a promise to put their love lives on hold and could date other people.

Lola Martinez

This aspiring movie star is among a handful of female students at PCA. After Dana moved out (in Season 2), Martinez became the new roommate of Zoey, Nicole and (later, in Season 3) Quinn. As an acting exercise, Lola pretended to be a freaky goth on her first day at PCA and Zoey and Nicole were so freaked out that they wanted to sleep in tents outdoors. Lola is very dedicated to her dream of becoming a famous Hollywood actress, and confident of winning an Oscar by her 19th birthday. She can talk in a very convincing British accent, as shown in "The Dance Contest" when practicing for a play. She possesses a phobia of people in big costumes due to an accident that took place when she was young. Strangely, she did not freak out at Quinn's "Alpaca Party" even though Mark was in a big Anteater costume. She also can tell if a boy is a good kisser by watching him eat an apple, but it is never shown how she determines whether a certain boy is a good kisser, but her crush, Lafe, from Curse of PCA, appears to be identified by Lola as a good kisser. In an episode during season four, "Anger Management", she ate some peanuts, after they had been in Quinn's mouth.

Nicole Bristow

Nicole Bristow (Alexa Nikolas, Seasons 1-2) is from Kansas, where her father owns a juice company. In season one you learn that she is "boy" crazy. She is the second person Zoey meets at PCA. Her personal rule of thumb is "Better late than sweaty!". She often has arguments with Dana; Nicole gets along much better with her Season 2 roommate Lola Martinez. Nicole is also very sensitive. In "Disc Golf" she admits she is not very good at sports. In Season 3, Nicole did not come back to PCA because she was diagnosed with "OMGD" (Obsessive Male Gender Disorder) and sent to an all-girls school. She is mentioned in the first episode of season 3, but nobody mentioned her in season 4. She's not returning to the show due to her actress Alexa Nicolas having a conflict with main actress Jamie Lynn Spears (Zoey Brooks), although there was originally a decision she would come back for some episodes of Season 4.

Dana Cruz

Dana Cruz (Kristin Herrera, Season 1) is one of Zoey's season one roommates. Dana is good at sports, particularly basketball. She is also a total slob who loves to sleep, hates to wake up, and considers mankind's greatest invention to be the snooze button on her alarm clock. She frequently argues with roommate Nicole Bristow, whom Dana blames for giving her frequent nightmares about "death by blow dryer". Dana's bad attitude is comparable to that of Logan Reese, whom she cannot stand, although both have quite a bit in common and went to a school dance together. In Season 2, Dana was accepted by a European exchange student program; she is currently studying in Europe. She is not expected to be coming back to the show at any time.
