Khvansar is a city and capital of Khvansar County, Isfahan Province, Iran. As of the 2006 census, its population was 20,490, in 6,019 families.[1] Khansar is located in a place not far from central desert of Iran and just 150 km from Isfahan. It is 900 square km and situated in central part of Iran surrounded by Zagros Mountains. (Mount of Khansar). Khansar is governed by Ostadrahimi.

Demographics

Maybe the most important part about discuss of Khvansar is its demographics.

We can divide Khvansar people based on the History:

1-The primary people whom have lived in Khvansar are Medes(a group of Aryans whom came to Iran thousands years ago). Nowadays these people are recognized as Azeris whom speaks Old Azerbaijani language(before mixing with Turkick language).

2-Jews were next group whom leave Khvansar after islamic revolutin of Iran.Methinks when Great Cyrus conquered Babylonia country he release jewish society of Babylonia and sent some of them to some parts of Achaemenid Empire and built temples for them. One of those parts was Khvansar.

3-The lastest main population are two groups of other Azeris . When the First Abbas Kingdom wanted to change the capital of Safavid dynasty from Qazvin to Isfahan he brought some people and military persons from Hamedan and Arran(modern Republic of Azerbaijan) to Golpayegan,Khvansar and Fereydan to defend Isfahan against some aggressive Kurds and Lurs.

Nowadays society of Khvansar is azerbaijani percently.We can divide them into two groups based on their language :

1-Old Azeri language : Most of the people whom speak this language live in Khvansar city of Khvansar county and few villages.

2-Azeri turkick language: This language is common in the most of the villages of Khvansar and a few

neighborhoods of Khvansar city.
