Rex Montague Maddaford (born 9 March 1947) is a New Zealand long-distance runner. He competed in the men's 5000 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics.[1]

Maddaford began running as a child. He relocated to the United States after accepting a track scholarship from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. While in college, Maddaford met his wife, Jeanette. After retiring from professional running, Maddaford became a physical education teacher at an elementary school in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Maddaford worked as a teacher at Tucumcari High School before retiring in 2007.[2]
