Robin Tait

Robin Tait ( Robin Douglas Tait; born April 14, 1940 in Dunedin , † March 20, 1984 in Auckland ) was a New Zealand discus thrower and shot putter .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in 1962 , he was fourth in the discus throw and twelfth in the shot put. Four years later he won bronze in the discus throw at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 and was sixth in the shot put.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City he came in the discus throw on twelfth and at the British Commonwealth Games 1970 in Edinburgh on sixth place.

In 1972 he did not get beyond qualification in the discus throw at the Olympic Games in Munich .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974, he won the discus throw and was fifth in the shot put.

Then he was seventh in the discus throw at the Athletics World Cup in 1977 in Düsseldorf, fourth at the Commonwealth Games 1978 in Edmonton and sixth at the Athletics World Cup in Montreal in 1979 . In 1981 he won silver at the Pacific Conference Games and was eighth in the World Athletics Cup in Rome . He also came in eighth at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

He was New Zealand champion in discus throw fourteen times (1963, 1965, 1968–1970, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1978–1983) and four times in the shot put (1963, 1971, 1973, 1974).
