Tepalcatepec also known as "Tepeque" is a city and municipality in the state of Michoacán it's located in the SouthWest region of "Tierra Caliente" in the state of Michoacán and adjoins with the state of Jalisco on the North and West side of the municipality. The total population of Tepalcatepec in 2010 was 41,004 and the total population of the municipality was 55,782

Fauna

It is the endemic environment of Michoacan Club-tail iguana (Ctenosaura clarki). The habitat of this species is dry, hot, cactus covered rocky hillsides.
