[[Thanesar]] or [[Thanesar|Sthaneswar]], a historical town is located adjacent to what is now newly created Kurukshetra city. Local hearsay identifies the legendary "Kurukshetra" with a nearby obscure hamlet, and with the active abetment of the state government, it is presently experiencing a tourist boom.
One of the premier guards of the 1950s, Braun spent 13 seasons in the [[National Basketball Association|NBA]], all but the last with the [[New York Knicks]]. He ended his career in 1962, after one season with the [[Boston Celtics]]. Braun played in five [[National Basketball Association All-Star Game|NBA All-Star Game]]s and scored 10,625 points in his professional career. Braun was a [[player-coach]] for the Knicks in 1960 and 1961 as well, compiling a 40-87 record.


A few kilometeres from Kurukshetra is the village known as "[[Amin Village|Amin]]", where there are remnants of a fort and it is said to be [[Abhimanyu]]'s fort.

In some ancient Hindu texts, the boundaries of Kurukshetra correspond roughly to the state of Haryana. Kurukshetra pronunciation(Hindi: कुरुक्षेत्र) is the name of a city in Kurukshetra District of the Indian state of Haryana हरियाणा. The name literally means "Land of the Kaurava" after the Kuru clan. It is supposed to be the site of the Kurukshetra war, described in the Mahabharata. Kurukshetra is of great importance in Hinduism as this is where the Bhagavad Gita was taught to Arjuna on the battle field, just before the great battle [1]. Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' had written a poem by the name of Kurukshetra.

Thanesar or Sthaneswar, a historical town is located adjacent to what is now newly created Kurukshetra city. Local hearsay identifies the legendary "Kurukshetra" with a nearby obscure hamlet, and with the active abetment of the state government, it is presently experiencing a tourist boom.
