(1014) Semphyra is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on January 31, 1924 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth , who worked at the observatory on the Königstuhl near Heidelberg .

The asteroid was named after a character from a poem by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin .
