(11450) Shearer is an asteroid of the main belt , which on August 22 in 1979 by the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory was discovered.

The asteroid was named after Andrew Shearer (* 1953), head of a working group for astrophysics and image processing at the National University of Ireland in Galway .
