(12747) Michageffert is a main inner belt asteroid discovered on December 18, 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst in Caussols , France .
It is named after the German astronomer Michael Geffert (* 1953) who works at the Argelander Institute for Astronomy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .
