(13086) Sauerbruch is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on April 30, 1992 by Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian state observatory in Tautenburg .
The asteroid belongs to the Dora family, a group of asteroids named after (668) Dora .
(13086) Sauerbruch is named after the German doctor and surgeon Ernst Ferdinand Sauerbruch (1875–1951), who gave medicine important impulses through innovative methods.
