(15761) Schumi is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 24, 1992 by Freimut Börngen and Lutz D. Schmadel at the observatory of the Thuringian state observatory in Tautenburg .

The asteroid is named after the German Formula 1 racing driver and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher .
