(162) Laurentia is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 21 April 1876 by the French astronomer Prosper Mathieu Henry was discovered.
The asteroid was named in honor of the French astronomer Joseph Jean Pierre Laurent , who discovered the asteroid (51) Nemausa in 1858 .
