(18228) Hyperenor is an asteroid belonging to the group of Jupiter Trojans . This describes asteroids that move around the sun on the Lagrange points on Jupiter's orbit .
(18228) Hyperenor was discovered on March 26, 1971 by the Dutch astronomers Cornelis Johannes van Houten , Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675). It is assigned to the Lagrangian point L 5 .
The asteroid is named after the mythological Trojan hero Hyperenor , a son of the Trojan hero Panthoos . He was a brother of the Euphorbo and the Polydama .
