(1845) Helewalda is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 30, 1972 by the Swiss astronomer Paul Wild from the Zimmerwald Observatory at the University of Bern .

It is named asteroid after Helen, a former schoolmate of the explorer from the forest .
