Appenhausen break
The Appenhäuser Bruch is a nature reserve in the city of Porta Westfalica . It is around 12.5 hectares and is listed under the designation MI-045.
The area is north of the Eisbergen district and south of Autobahn 2 .
The protection should serve to preserve the diversely structured biotope complex . The biotope is a refuge for rare animal and plant species with its near-natural willow bushes , brook alder and ash forest meadows and pools . It is particularly worth protecting because of its wet and wet meadows , large sedge and reed beds .
