Holzhauser Mark

The Holzhauser Mark nature reserve is located in Porta Westfalica . It is around 22 hectares and is listed under the designation MI-040.

It is located southeast of the Holzhausen district and north of Autobahn 2 .

The protection position should serve to preserve the former dry excavation. The raw soil left to natural development has created a refuge of ruderal corridors and small bodies of water for rare animal and plant species. These biotopes , partly with reed beds and riparian trees, must be protected.
