Rahlbruch

The Rahlbruch is a nature reserve in the city of Porta Westfalica . It is around 28 hectares and is listed under the designation MI-041. The Rahlbruch was placed under nature protection in 1991.

The area is located southwest of the Möllbergen district and south of Autobahn 2 .

The protection is intended to serve to preserve valuable wetlands . The biotope is a refuge for rare animal and plant species with its wet and wet meadows , large sedge and reed beds , near-natural forest and ponds . A current joint project of the Naturschutzbund Deutschland , the Minden-Lübbecke district and the city of Porta Westfalica is dedicated to protecting the resident yellow - bellied toads .
