Porta Westfalica bird sanctuary

The Porta Westfalica bird sanctuary is a nature reserve in the town of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is around 26 hectares and is listed under the official designation MI-032.

location

The area is located north of the Holzhausen district and south of the Weser .

Goal of protection

The protection should serve to preserve the diversely structured wet biotope . The biotope is a refuge for rare animal and plant species with its near-natural alluvial forest , the tall reed beds and the large sedge .
