Henryk Dobosz (born March 20, 1953 in Lublin ) is a Polish chess player and international master since 1978 .

Life

From 1976 to 1979 he played three times in the finals of the Polish National Championship (all tournaments were played as Open in the Swiss system). The best result he achieved in 1976 in Bydgoszcz with the 4th place. In the same year he played in the Polish team at the Student World Cup held in Caracas . At the moment he teaches the children and youth team at the Bregenz chess club.

In the following years he often played in international tournaments, mainly in Opens, in many of them he took top places:

  • 1978 - Slupsk : 2nd - 5th, Rzeszów : 1st
  • 1981 - Prague : 3rd - 4th
  • 1983 - Sopot : 1st – 2nd
  • 1985 - Kalisz (Polish Blitz Chess Championship ): 2nd
  • 1988 - Bydgoszcz (Polish Rapid Chess Championship): 2nd
  • 1995 - Biel ( Credis open ): 1.
  • 1997 - Götzis Open : 1st – 3rd, Leipzig Open : 2nd – 4th
  • 1998 - Görlitz Open : 1.
  • 1999 - Görlitz Open : 2nd – 4th
  • 2002 - Freudenstadt : 1.
  • 2003 - Triesen Open : 2nd - 7th
  • 2005 - Görlitz Open : 1st – 3rd

Dobosz played in the Polish team championship from 1970 to 1977 and 1982 for MKS Start Lublin , with whom he was Polish team champion in 1971 , from 1987 to 1991 for KS Kolejarz Katowice and 1994 and 1995 for KS Śląsk Świętochłowice . He achieved the best individual result on the fourth board in 1972, 1975 and 1987. In the Austrian Bundesliga , Dobosz played for SK Sparkasse Götzis in the 2005/06 season and for SK Bregenz in the 2016/17 and 2019/20 seasons . In the 1990s he was registered with 1. Wiener Neustädter SV , but remained in the state league A without use. In Switzerland, Dobosz played for SV Birsfelden / Beider Basel from 2004 to 2009 and won the Swiss Bundesliga with them in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2008 .
