(1992) Galvarino ( 1,968 OD ) is an asteroid of the main belt , July 18, 1968 by Carlos Torres and S. Cofre in Cerro El Roble Observatory was discovered. (1992) Galvarino was considered by ESA as a possible target for the Rosetta probe, but not selected as such.
designation
The asteroid was named after Galvarino , a Mapuche warrior in the early stages of the Arauco War .
