(1994) Shane ( 1961 TE ; 1939 RN ) is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on October 4, 1961 in the Goethe Link Observatory .

designation

The asteroid was named after the American astronomer CD Shane (1895–1983). Shane was, among other things, the head of the Lick Observatory and the second president of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy .
