(2048) Dvornik ( 1973 QA ) is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 27 August 1973 by Eleanor F. Helin at Palomar Observatory was discovered.
designation
The asteroid was named after the geologist Stephen E. Dwornik (1926–2012), who played a role in the unmanned exploration of the moon and was the head of NASA's planetary science program . As part of the program, he was involved in mapping the planets Mars and Mercury .
