(2091) Sampo is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 26 April 1941 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.
The name of the asteroid is chosen after the magical artifact Sampo , which is mentioned in the Finnish national epic Kalevala . According to legend, the artifact should be able to create any kind of happiness.
