(21238) Panarea is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 November 1995 by the Japanese astronomer Takao Kobayashi at Oizumi Observatory ( IAU code was discovered 411).

The asteroid is named after the volcanic island of Panarea , which is located in the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands off the northern coast of Sicily .
