(2319) Aristides is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 17, 1960 by the Dutch research team Cornelis Johannes van Houten , Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels as part of the Palomar-Leiden Survey .
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.
The name of the asteroid is derived from the historical statesman Aristeides of Athens .
