(27710) Henseling is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 7, 1988 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia . It has an orbital period of 3.26 years; its somewhat eccentric elliptical orbit runs in the inner region of the asteroid belt.

The asteroid was named in 1989 after the German astronomer and writer Robert Henseling (1883–1964), who was a committed promoter of amateur astronomy and co-founder of two public observatories .
