(2794) Kulik is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 8, 1978 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).

The asteroid was named after the Russian mineralogist Leonid Alexejewitsch Kulik (1883-1942), who is known for his research in the field of meteorites and in 1927 led the first Soviet research expedition to investigate the Tunguska incident .
