(2927) Alamosa is an asteroid of the main belt , the American US on 5 October 1981 by the astronomer Norman G. Thomas at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory ( IAU code in 688) Flagstaff was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the birthplace of the explorer, the small town of Alamosa in Alamosa County in the US state of Colorado , named.
