(3546) Atanasoff is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 September 1983 by the astronomer Eleanor Helin and Vladimir Schkodrow the Bulgarian National Astronomical Observatory - Rozhen ( IAU code 071) southeast of the town of Chepelare was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the American computer pioneer John Atanasoff (1903-1995), who together with Clifford Berry built the first electronic digital computer with the Atanasoff-Berry computer between 1937 and 1941 .
