(3688) Navajo is a Main Belt asteroid discovered by Edward LG Bowell on March 30, 1981 at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff , Arizona . It is in a 2: 1 orbit resonance with Jupiter and was named after the Navajo Indian people who now live in Utah , New Mexico and Arizona.
