(3953) Perth is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 6 November 1986 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the Perth Observatory near the city of Perth in Western Australia .
