(3958) Komendantov is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 10, 1953 by the Russian astronomer Pelageja Fyodorovna Shain at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .
The asteroid was named after Nikolaj Vasil'evich Komendantov (* 1895 - † 1937), researcher for the orbits of minor planets at the suggestion of Yu. V. Batrakov named.
