(7317) Cabot is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 12 March 1940 by the Hungarian astronomers György Kulin at Konkoly Observatory in Budapest was discovered.
The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Genoese-Venetian navigator and explorer Giovanni Caboto (John Cabot).
