(789) Lena is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered in Simejis on June 24, 1914 by the Russian astronomer Grigori Nikolajewitsch Neuimin .

The asteroid is dedicated to the mother of the discoverer, Elena Petrovna Neuimina (1860–1942).
