(7932) Plimpton is an asteroid of the main belt , the American US by the April 7, 1989 astronomer Eleanor Helin at Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) northeast of San Diego in California was discovered.
It was named on June 7, 2009 after the American author and writer George Plimpton (1927-2003), who promoted numerous young writers and in 1953 together with a group of young American writers founded the literary magazine The Paris Review , of which he was editor-in-chief remained after his death.
