(9722) Levi-Montalcini is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 4 March 1981 by the astronomer Henri DEBEHOGNE and Giovanni de Sanctis at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was on 30 January 2010 after the Italian physician and neurobiologist Rita Levi-Montalcini named (1909-2012), discovered the body responsible for cell growth endogenous growth factors and 1986 together with Stanley Cohen with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded.
