Élodie Vignon (born October 11, 1984 in Lyon ) is a French pianist .

Life and study

Élodie Vignon started playing the piano at the age of four . She began her studies at the Lyon Conservatory at the age of seven and received her “Médaille d'Or” in 2011 in the class of Hervé Billaut.

In 2004 she was invited to Daniel Blumenthal's class at the Koninklijk Conservatory in Brussels . She moved to Belgium and completed two master's degrees in piano and chamber music with honors.

She also studied with Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri . At the beginning of her career, Élodie Vignon was invited to various festivals and concert venues in Europe and the USA. Since 2010 she has been artist in residence at the Bell'Arte Foundation in Brussels .

Artistic activities

In Europe, Élodie Vignon has frequent appearances in Belgium (Brussels, Gent , Kortrijk , Anvers, Turnhout , Hasselt etc.), France (Lyon, Paris , Vézelay , Dijon , Batz-sur-mer etc.), Luxembourg , Italy ( Anghiari , Bari , Brescia ) and Spain (Pycanya, Valldemossa ) as well as Madeira and Lithuania .

In Belgium Vignon performed several times with the Amon Quartet and the Coryfeye Quartet. She often works with the contralto Sarah Laulan and the Polish cellist Kacper Nowak. Belgian pianist Julien Libeer is also a frequent duo partner on stage. Between 2010 and 2017 Élodie Vignon was one of the artists at the EuropArt Festival. As a soloist she gave concerts under various conductors. This also includes Philippe Entremont , with whom she worked particularly closely. In the US she is a frequent guest at the Chopin Society in Atlanta .

In 2018 she was invited to Manila , Philippines to perform and teach during the master class of the International Piano Festival of Manila.

Discography

In March 2018 Vignon released their first album on Cypres Records. The CD contains the twelve etudes for piano by Claude Debussy as well as the poems "twelve studious boxes", which she commissioned from the Belgian poet Lucien Noullez. In Europe, the record received four stars in the French magazine "Classica". The German magazine “Pianist” presented Vignon as one of Debussy's best performers. In 2018 she toured Europe with the repertoire and gave concerts in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Spain. She also performed with the program in the USA and Canada. She has been heard in North Carolina , at Steinway Hall in New York City, and at Christ Church Cathedral in Montreal.

In the summer of 2018, Vignon worked with the soprano Clara Inglese for a recording in March 2019. The album explores the character of Ophelia in music literature and also includes a composition by Benoît Mernier written for Clara Inglese, Élodie Vignon and cellist Sébastien Walnier.

Élodie Vignon is currently preparing her second album with the piano sonata and the three preludes by Henri Dutilleux . There will also be a composition by Claude Ledoux, who wrote his piece especially for Vignon. The CD will be released on February 14, 2020 by Cypres Records, on the same day Élodie Vignon will also give a concert at the Flagey Piano Days Festival.
