Ócsa is a Hungarian town in the county Gyál in Pest County .

geography

Ócsa extends over an area of ​​81.66 km². The municipality is located 30 km south of the capital Budapest between the national road 5 and the M5 motorway .

history

Ócsa has been inhabited continuously since the Árpáden period. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1235 as Alza . The monastery built in honor of the Virgin Mary was built before 1235. The current church of the monastery is one of the most important monuments of Romanesque Hungarian architecture.
