Ingeborg Viola Öllegård Wellton (born April 28, 1932 in Stockholm , Stockholm County ; † June 26, 1991 there ) was a Swedish actress .

life and career

Öllegård Wellton was born into a Stockholm family of artists, her grandmother Anna Hofman-Uddgren was Sweden's first female film director. Her brothers were the sculptor Lars Wellton (1918–1992) and the actor Ernst Wellton (1921–2001). She studied acting with Gösta Terserus in the late 1940s and attended the Dramatens elevskola drama school from 1950 to 1953 . She then worked at several theaters in Sweden. She was also active as a film actress, so in 1949 she took on one of her first roles as a ballet dancer in Ingmar Bergman's early work Durst . She took on her best-known film role in the late 1960s in the successful Astrid Lingren film adaptation of Pippi Longstocking , in which she played the caring mother of Tommy ( Pär Sundberg ) and Annika ( Maria Persson ) as Mrs. Settergren .

After a first marriage to the pilot Ivan Roos from 1950 to 1953, Wellton married her fellow actor Erik Hell in 1960 , with whom she had two children. After Hell's death in March 1973, she increasingly withdrew from acting and devoted herself to raising her children. She last stood in front of the camera in 1985 for a television adaptation of August Strindberg's life. Wellborg died in June 1991 at the age of 59 and was buried in the cemetery of Solna Church.
