Austrian Romantic Road
The Austrian Romantic Road is an adventure road and a consortium . The ARGE serves the tourist marketing of the 380 km route from Vienna to Salzburg . It runs from Vienna via the federal states of Lower Austria , Upper Austria and Salzburg and has 18 member municipalities. Tourist regions such as the Salzkammergut , the Wachau , the Alpine foothills and Strudengau and Nibelungengau are also crossed.

founding
It was founded in 1989 based on an idea by Dieter Neumann and Wolfgang Neubauer. Number of founding members: 20 (all between Vienna and Salzburg).
